Think of our tour as a captivating prologue to your full Castle experience! We'll delve into the heart of this historic village within the castle walls, exploring the extensive grounds, uncovering hidden gems like the One O'Clock Gun and Hospital Square, and revealing the stories held within each building. While we won't enter individual interiors during the tour (no tour is permitted to do so), your guide will share insightful tips and recommendations for which ones to visit afterwards, letting you personalise your own Castle adventure! This outdoor format allows us to maximise exploration, ensure year-round accessibility, and offer a flexible timeline for you to enjoy both the tour and independent exploration at your own pace.

• This is a walking tour which will require guests to be standing throughout, sometimes on uneven terrain, therefore guests should have a moderate level of physical fitness
• Unfortunately the tour is not currently suitable for wheelchair users. Edinburgh Castle does provide a mobility service but wait times in the high season can be lengthy.
• This tour is provided in English, so a good understanding of English is required to get the most out of the experience.

On the very rare occasion that we have to cancel the tour due to inclement weather, we will issue a 100% refund or allow you to reschedule for another time that works for you. In the case of bad weather, our guide will contact you at least one hour before the start time to discuss your options.

• If there is rain in the forecast the tour will still run, it is Scotland after all 😂
• We will however NOT run the tour if there are dangerous weather conditions, or associated weather warnings issued by the Met Office.
• During periods of high winds Edinburgh Castle will close to the public for safety reasons, on those occasions we will cancel tour and let you know as soon as we find out.
